I moved to Chiappera (CN GPS 44.50295 , 6.91538) Altitude 1565m at the top of Val Maira. This is now the only area “blu” dell”Northern Italy in light pollution maps.

I arrived at 18 with the camper and I mounted the dob14″ while waiting for acclimatization with the mirror a 24 degrees and the ambient temperature at 17.
it's now 22 and thanks to the suction of the boundary layer, the primary fell to 13 degrees trying to chase the environment that has fallen to 10,6 degrees, but the difference of up to 5 degrees , in my experience, provides perfect images with suction in place.
I'm waiting for it to get dark . the sky is clear and there is no import of clouds from France ( for the moment).
the telescope is soaked on the outside, but the mirrors are free from condensation . Especially the secondary one, thanks to the thickness of 2 mm of silicone to eliminate thermal bridge between mirror and support.
Tomorrow evening I change mountains and move to Alpette (210 km from here).
Then I'll tell you what comes out of it
      hello Giulio

hello Giulio :bye: if you hear an annoying buzz don't worry, it's my envy that has reached up there.. :yahoo:
Il 14″ in a similar scenario it certainly gives great emotions, good continuation and keep us informed !

          therefore: Very positive evening.
I have observed from 23 at half past one and then the cold got the better of me and I withdrew without depriving myself of the simple naked eye view of the celestial vault with the passage of a quantity of artificial satellites and some very fast meteors.
The temperature dropped to 6,8 degrees, Without wind. And the mirror came to 9,5 degrees…..(coming from 26 of hours 18, a temperatura camper).
The SQM measured with my SQM-L, at midnight it was 21,55 in the Ursa Major area, while in the Cigno-Lira area it did not exceed 21,43.
I would say that the place has been in good condition for two years, when in September 2012 I measured 21,65 out of the Milky Way.
The only flaw of the place is the width of the sky limited in a north-south direction by the mountains on the French side (where the German pilot landed his airbus) and the large rock gym of the so-called Provençal castle.
The width visible last night included the swan to the east (but it excluded the east end with the 51cyg and its “velo”); and ended in the west with Coma di Berenice.
while to the south Saturn was visible low on the mountain (and nasty in turbulence) until it descends just below Antares.
The Wirpool was spectacular with nice hints of spirals.
          M 81 beautiful and the 82 relief.
I therefore observed all the easy things out of curiosity to see how they presented themselves. The M95 without uhc presented itself with the kindness of a punch in the eye.
The nearby M108 galaxy, beautiful cigar-shaped with the little field star that when I was young gave me a shock interpreting it as a possible supernova.

Overall it was a positive evening
This afternoon the weather temporarily worsens, and then I move to Alpette where in “uichend” There is a star party (events that I don't like due to the presence of pretentious photographers…solitary beings in antithesis to my visualist and convivial faith) linked to the activities of the local astronomical observatory, but a friend invited me and I willingly go to look in other people's telescopes, most likely (if my friend doesn't advertise me), leaving my Big Child 360F5 to rest in the camper.

            Envy, envy, envy… :-) :-) :-)
Is’ the sky here has been covered in clouds for more than a week and I don't think it's going to get better anytime soon…
I can only imagine the show reading your reports… :good:
In the meantime, I can only wish you well “uichend” and clear observations…ciao… :bye:

I envy you too……this evening “I gamble” an evening at the Novezzina observatory which organizes the “eyes on Saturn”. Just because I'm bringing along my brother who has never seen the observatory and why, bad luck, However, there is a little conference, a bit’ of people to have a chat with and, if the weather forces us to keep the domes closed, a nice tour of the observatory with an update on research activities.

Eh, eh… it's nice to feel united by a common feeling  :-)

A question, given that I am not familiar with SQMs, However, it seems to me that the value measured by Giulio di 21,55 corresponds to the best that can be found, or am I wrong ? Approximately what would be the perceivable limit magnitude a “naked eye” ?

I think it corresponds to just under the seventh magnitude.
in this regard, there is a convenient abacus online that includes and relates the various scales. You can find it by Googling “bortle scale” and setting the viewing of images.
What I attach is the image http://www.darkskiesawareness.org/img/sky-brightness-nomogram.gif
But the one you find has a decent definition

By the way, I don't know if you can see the image that I don't see)

questionA: to share an image of me , I have to upload it to external servers and do it through the link, but I don't know what effect using the link function has, or img, or queues.
B: what functions do functions have a, or,ed
                    Thank you and I apologize

In the posts it is possible to write the HTML code directly . The tags in the toolbar are just some of the most used:

for images, inserting the link in the tag “img” the image appears within the post. Always use the direct link between tags “img”

he tags “link” associates a link with a text with the option to open the link on the same/other page
example : using tags in html

for the other tags we have:

ul = ( unordered list ) indicates a group of unordered elements ( bulleted list )
ol = (ordered list ) for numbered lists
                      li = (list item )

                      example unordered list:

                      • element 1
                      • element 2

The Alpette Sta Party was interesting for its convivial aspects, and conferences; and in particular of a beautiful projection in a specific planetary dome, of a presentation made by a friend, using the well-known Stellarium.
Stellarium among other features, allows you to show who is participating, the devastating effect of light pollution on the observation of the sky, even with the naked eye. And it is also good when addressed to teachers and children, who are the adults of tomorrow.

I generously self-dispensed from the assembly of my dobson 350F5 because the park of personal amateur telescopes available to the public, it was already full of super-technological refractors alone, with all sorts of digital galaxy-attracting equipment possible, and I did not wish to disturb souls by showing things that raised doubts.

As I said I prefer places like the one in the following photo, made last month a 7 km from Campo Imperatore, not reachable by closed road due to snow.
I stopped to stay overnight on the SS 17Bis at the crossroads at the coordinates 42.411838,13.625761, a quota circa 1700 m, on the way back from L'Aquila, seat of concert engagements of my choir, for the recent meeting of the Alpini.

I did not have the SQM meter with me, so I can only say that the Eta Ursae minoris, which is of magnitude, could be seen very well 5, and it is the easy reference of the old-fashioned amateur astronomer. So good heavens, in the dark, however, spectacular, albeit with a lighter halo on the EAST horizon, in the direction of Chieti-Pescara.
The absolutely lonely evening, no wind, and the absent moon sky open and clear in all directions, made me come back at 2 for the cold fell to 4 degrees C.
